 | VB-MAPP Revisions and Updates From Dr. Mark Sundberg: In my on-going effort to better assess children with autism or other developmental disabilities, I’ve made a few changes in the VB-MAPP milestones. The changes consist of two new milestones (Social Behavior 1-M and LRFFC 9-M) that replace two milestones. Also, I moved up the positions of three milestones (LRFFC 7-M, 8-M, & 9-M), and made minor changes in 5 other milestones. The download below details the specific changes along with the scoring criteria and placement information for the two new milestones. I’ve also made some additional changes to help improve the overall effectiveness of the assessment tool. These changes appear in the 4th printing of the Protocol and the 3rd printing of the Guide. Printing number is indicated by the standard printing industry countdown system displayed on page 2 of the Protocol (e.g., 10 9 8 7 6 5 4) and page ii of the Guide (e.g., 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3). The new Protocol is already out, and the new Guide will be available in mid August. These changes should not affect existing VB-MAPP profiles, although it may be of value to assess the children on the two new milestones, if relevant, and the 5 modifications of the other milestones. Some people may have the new Protocol, but still have an earlier version of the Guide. There is no need to purchase a new Guide or replace earlier versions of the Protocol.
